  James Oglesby - December 13, 1973

  Funeral rites for James Ivy Oglesby, 82, of Verda, who died
Sunday, Dec. 9, were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, in the
Verda Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Chellette officiating,
assisted by the Rev. Gerald Page and the Rev. Mac Bright. Burial
was in the Verda Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Funeral
Home.

  Survivors include his wife; three sons, Thurman Oglesby of
Verda, Sherman Oglesby of Colfax and Harmon Oglesby of Salt Lake
City, Utah; four daughters, Mrs. E. J. Green of Monroe, Mrs. O.
J. James of Montgomery, Mrs. J. A. Murray of Pleasant Hill and
Mrs. E. K. Beatey of Long Beach, miss.; one brother, Ray Oglesby
of Jena and one half-brother, Leslie Oglesby of Charleston, S.
C.; one sister, Mrs. Lottie Critzer of Waynesboro, Va.; two
half-sisters, Mrs. Willa Dee King of Alexandria and Mrs. Florence
Dubois of Colfax; and 17 grandchildren and 14 great
grandchildren.
