Officiating the services were Rev. Doug Mitchell, pastor of First Baptist Church of Converse, assisted by Dr. Sid Young, pastor of First Baptist Church of Haynesville, the Rev. Bob Hannigan, pastor of San Patricio Baptist Church of Converse, and the Rev. Johnny Tipton, pastor of Grawood Baptist Church of Keithville. Burial followed in the Converse Cemetery, under the direction of Rose-Neath Mansfield Chapel. Mr. Ott passed away Thursday, January 4, at Willis-Knighton Medical Center in Shreveport, following a brief illness. He was a native of Mitchell, and had resided in Converse all of his life. Mr. Ott was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Converse. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maudie Peacock Ott; and one son, Albert Franklin Ott Jr. He is survived by four daughters, Julia Mae Rabon of Converse, Mary Louise Peters of Keithville, Mildred "Polly" Shows of Keithville, and Frankie Sue Bossier of Converse; one sister, Judy Ott Jones of Campti; two brothers, William Ray Ott of Shreveport, and Charles R. Ott of Mitchell; 14 grandchildren; five step grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 19 great-step grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and 12 great-great step grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers were Cecil Brumley, Hubert Brumley, Lindsey Stephens, W. T. Boyd, Edward Burnett, Jerry Autry, J. C. Price, and John Brock. Honorary pallbearers were the Luke Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church of Converse. The family requests that memorials be made to the building fund of San Patricio Baptist Church.
