Odom, Sr., 81, of Bossier City, were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 27, at the Plain Dealing Baptist Church in Plain Dealing, La. The Rev. Merlin C. Liverman of Barksdale Baptist Church, officiated, assisted by Dr. Don Doughty of Plain Dealing Baptist Church. Burial was at Plain Dealing Cemetery, under the direction of Rose-Neath's Bossier City Chapel. Mr. Odom died Thursday, July 25, 1985, in Bossier City, after a long illness. He was born in Plain Dealing, and had been a resident of Bossier Parish, La. all of his life. Mr. Odom was a retired federal civil service employee at Barksdale Air Force Base. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ruth T. Odom of Bossier City; one son, Mr. Edgar "Buck" Odom of Zwolle, La.; one daughter, Mrs. Joan E. May of Miami, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Tessie Pittman, and Mrs. Minnie Hardaway of Plain Dealing; one brother, Mr. Bernard Odom of Bethany, La.; nine grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. Pallbearers were deacons of Barksdale Baptist Church.
