Officiating was Dr. Raymond Leake. Burial was in the Simsboro Cemetery. Mrs. Odom died Thursday, May 31, at the Lincoln General Hospital in Ruston, after a lengthy illness. She was a retired school teacher, with the Webster Parish School Board, and a member of the Retired Teachers Association of Louisiana. She was a former resident of Picayne, Mississippi, a member of the First Baptist Church in Picayne, the Women's Hospital Auxiliary in Picayne, and the Picayne Welcoming Committee, the Picayne Garden Club, and the Laubach Literacy Action. She is survived by her husband, Alva B. Odom Jr. of Homer; one daughter, Phyllis Adams of Slidell; one brother, Robert C. Alexander of Dubach; one sister, Mary E. Freeman of Many; two granddaughters, Kimmerly L. Adams, and Ashley C. Adams, both of Slidell. Pallbearers will be Robert M. Alexander, Kenneth Freeman, Jimmy Odom, Bruce Odom, Bryan Odom, and Keith Odom.
