All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** The Sabine Index - John Ziddie Olliff 8 Jun 1951 - Funeral services for John Ziddie Olliff, who passed away after a long illness, was held at Lettie Flock church Thursday May 31, at 10 a.m. Interment was under the direction of Drewett funeral home and interment was in Pisgah cemetery. Uncle John, as he was known was a charter member of Rocky Spring Baptist church. He was born June 25, 1863, and departed this life May 29, 1951, at 10:15 p.m. at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ollie Dyess. He was born and reared in Sabine parish. In 1886 he was united in marriage to Martha Filionia Ott and to this union were born 10 children of which five are still living, Mrs. Ollie Dyess, Robeline; Mrs. Mollie Graves, Pleasant Hill, J. W. Olliff, Robeline; Frank Berry, Lake Village, Ark. There are 25 grandchildren and a host of friends and relatives to mourn his death. Those that served the deceased as pallbearers were six of his grandsons: H. Z. Dyess, Marvin Dyess, Jewel Dyess, Elton Graves, Wayne Olliff and Thurman Graves.
