All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Otto Owens, Sr. Services for Otto Manuel Owens, Sr., were at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 9, in the chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis in Natchitoches, with the Revs. Vernon Stephenson, and D. E. Privet officiating. Burial was in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Slagle. Mr. Owens, 89, of Noble, died at 6 p.m., Friday, March 7, in his daughter's residence. He was a former resident of Tioga and Lena. He was a native of Slagle, and a retired merchant and farmer. Survivors include one son, Otto M. Owens Jr. of Bently; six daughters, Mrs. Willie Bynog, and Helen Bebee, both of Tioga, Vera Mae Knight of Dry Prong, Nancy Morgan of Noble, Mrs. J. W. Smith Jr. of Natchitoches, and Minnie Neal of Prospect; one sister, Jessie Ball of Slagle; 21 grandchildren; and 27 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Walter Glenn Knight, Lawrence Michael Bynog, Raymond Duffell, Kenny Robinson, Jeff Turnbo, and Don Morgan. Honorary pallbearers were his sons-in-law.
