Owens Mr. Owens, 61, of Deville, died Friday, Dec. 31, 1993, in Rapides General Hospital in Alexandria. Services for Mr. George C. Owens were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, January 2, 1994, in the Bethel United Methodist Church of Deville, La., with Rhonda Yonley, Billy Franks, and Elder James R. Coburn officiating. Survivors include his wife, Betty Jean O'Neal Owens of Deville; one son, Ronald Curtis Owens of Deville; and one sister, Verda Gass of Florien. Mr. Owens was a native of Florien, and U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He served 18 years in the Louisiana National Guard before retiring. Burial was in the church cemetery, under the direction of Hixson Bros., Pineville. Pallbearers were Marvin Reed, Troy O'Neal, Edward O'Neal, James Frantom, Dane Frantom, and Kenneth Coburn.
