Funeral services were held at the Kelly-Hixon Funeral Chapel in Beaumont, Wednesday, Aug. 18, at 3 p.m., with the Rev. Woytek officiating. Interment was in the Magnolia Cemetery, in Beaumont, under the direction of Kelly-Hixon Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Rhoda Gene of Beaumont; two sons, Randall Lynn of Galveston, and Reggie Lynn of Beaumont; one daughter, Stacy Lynn of Beaumont; mother, Mrs. Carl A. Orchid Sr. of Many; four sisters, Mrs. R. B. Blackshear, LaPorte, Tex., Mrs. Lambert Fontenot, Cypress, California, Mrs. R. B. Dodson, Covesville, Va., and Mrs. Sherman Campbell of Many; three brothers, W., A. Orchid of Lakewood, Calif., B. J. Orchid of Beaumont, and J. W. Orchid of Spring, Tex. Pallbearers were Bill Orchid, Sherman Campbell, Roger Sekaly, John Felton, Dr. Gerald Lang, and Don Brough. Mr. Orchid was born in Arkansas, Sept. 14, 1923, and graduated from Prescott, Ark. High School. He was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, member of No. 1165 Masonic Lodge, Veteran of World War II, early founder and promoter of the City Athletic program in Beaumont, a past member of the Southwest Texas Athletic Association, and was employed with Bethlehem Steel in Many.
