Nabours who passed away at the home of his daughter at Bronson, Texas, were held Monday evening, Oct. 18, at Beulah, Rev. Joe Flanagan and Rev. C. W. Williams officiated. Interment was in the Beulah cemetery, Dennis-Green funeral home in charge. Surviving are two sons, J. C. and E. C. Nabours, four daughters, Mrs. W. R. Low of Bronson, Texas, Mrs. W. C. Pugh 22 Oct 1943 - Funeral rites for Mrs. Minnie C. Pugh, age 71 years, were held last Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at San Patricio church. Rev. C. W. Williams was in the Cassell cemetery, Converse. Surviving are seven children, five sons, Cassell Pugh, Arizona, Robert of Shreveport, G. B. of Houma, N. A. of Burras, J. B. with U. S. army overseas; two daughters, Mrs. W. E. Langford of Fort Payne, Ala., Mrs. Hugh McDonald of Many; three stepchildren, Foster Pugh of Colorado, Mrs. J. G. Long of Shreveport and Mrs. Dan Danridge of Sibley; one brother, Perry Cassell of Converse and 14 grandchildren. Mrs. Pugh was the widow of the late G. W. Pugh of Noble. She spent most of her life in Noble and was a member of the Baptist church of Noble. ***************************************************************** Obituaries: E. S. Varnado, Sabine Parish V-653 Source: Sabine Index, Many, La., Oct 8, 1943 Submitted by: Tammy Larche-Smith tammy@cp-tel.net The Sabine Index - E. S. Varnado 8 Oct 1943 - Funeral services for E. S. Varnado, age 80 years, who died Wednesday, Sept. 29 at 4:30 p.m. at his home near Robeline were held at Fort Jesup church at 2:00 p.m. Sunday with Rev. C. W. Williams of Many officiating, assisted by Rev. J. P. Fortenberry of Fisher. Mr. Varnado was born in Kentwood, Miss., but his lived in Sabine parish for the past 55 years. He was a retired farmer near Robeline, was an old member of the Masonic lodge. He is survived by his wife, Ida Stoker Varnado; five daughters, Mrs. R. M. Winn and M. C. Rhodes of Shreveport, Mrs. Rueben Goodman of Many, Mrs. Raymond Salter of Noble, Ill., Mrs. H. J. Mims of Robeline, three sons, Otha of Robeline; John and Morris of Many; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and one brother, Merce Varnado of Kentwood, Miss. The pallbearers were the grandsons: Ray Hewitt Winn and Linnie Winn of Shreveport, Gordon Parker of Many, O. E. Varnado, Jr., of Robeline; sons-in-laws, M. C. Rhodes of Shreveport and H. J.
