L. Abington, age 75 years, were held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday from the First Baptist church, Oakdale, Rev. E. C. Harris officiated. Dr. Abington was a native of Sabine parish, born in reared near Noble, having practiced medicine in Many for a number of years, later practiced in Oakdale and Zimmerman for a number of years. He is survived by his wife and seven children: half-brother, J. M. Abington of Many and half-sister, Mrs. A. S. Rev. E. C. Harris of West Lake officiated, assisted by Rev. Floyd Williams and Rev. Willis Greer of Many. Interment was in Many cemetery under direction Massingill funeral home. Surviving are one brother, J. L. Snell of Fisher, one son, Eugene Dees, Many; six daughters, Mrs. J. W. Aldredge, Mrs. Dan Talley and Mrs. R. E. Muse of Many, Mrs. T. M. Aldredge of Natchitoches, Mrs. J. W. Simpson of El Dorado, Ark, and Mrs. G. H. Simpson of Ville Platte; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Active pallbearers were: Albert Walden, Clarence Brumley, Laverne Daily, Raymond Muse, J. M. Gandy, and J. T. McDaniel. Mrs. Dees, widow of the late Jim Dees, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dan Talley Monday. Carlton, age 77 years, were held at Fisher Monday, where he passed away at the family home after a long illness. Before his retirement last year he was head of the land and timber department of Louisiana Long Leaf Lumber company, coming to Fisher from Missouri with the company many years ago. He is survived by his widow; two daughters, Mrs. I. R. Graves of Shreveport, Mrs. L. M. Edwards of Longview, Texas; three sons, John S. Carlton of Longview, Texas, Cpl. He was past master of the Masonic lodge. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Harold Oliver of Lafayette, Mrs. A. G. Lee of Oil City, Mrs. L. L. Brewton of Goldonna, Miss Isa Dee Dee Page of Robeline; one brother, W. W. Page, Jr. of Robeline, two sisters, Mrs. Tom J. Hart of Powhattan, Mrs. L. W. Jacob of Robeline; four grandchildren, James Oliver, U. S. Navy in the South Pacific, Snookie Brewton of Goldonna, Miss Betty Lou Oliver of Lafayette, Miss Glenda Lee of Oil City. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Monday at Robeline Baptist church, with the Rev. J. O. Foglerman officiating. Joe Flanagan pastor Zwolle Baptist church officiating. Surviving are his wife, Mande Woodle Sims; five sons, L. J. Sims, Baker 1/ U.S.N., R. W. Sims, Ravil Sims, Wiley Ray Sims, all of Zwolle; Job Bob Sims, all of Zwolle, four daughters, Mrs .W. N.
