Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, April 8, 1995, at McDonald Memorial Baptist Church in West Orange. Rev. Charles J. Funderburk, Rev. Don Mabry, and Rev. Joe Orr officiated. Maybel Peveto was a native of Florien, and had lived in Orange for the past three years. She was the retired secretary for the La. Baptist Association in Bunkie, La. She was a member of McDonald Memorial Baptist Church in West Orange, where she served as the ladies Sunday School teacher, and the Women's Missionary Union Director. Survivors include her husband, Ike Peveto of Orange; daughters, Barbara McDuffie of New Orleans, Sandra Clinkscales of Alexandria; a son, Rev. Charles J. Funderburk of Kansas City; step daughters, Glinda Gomez, Linda Heard, and Gail Meadows, all of Orange; sisters, Grace Arrington of DeRidder, Gladys Robinson of Jennings; brothers, Keith Brown, and Glyn Brown, both of Welsh, Carl Brown of Florien; five grandchildren; one great granddaughter; eight step grandchildren; and eight step great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Jeff Funderburk, Brad Clinkscales, Alan Miller, James Miller, Benny Funderburk, Terry Miller, Kit Hathorne, Lee Gomez, Chad Meadows, and Eric Meadows.
