Sherman Page, Sr., 75, of Converse, died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000, at DeSoto Regional Health System in Mansfield, after a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 29, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Mansfield, with interment following at Converse Cemetery. Bro. Weymon Rodeheaver, evangelist, officiated, and Bro. Jimmy Price assisted. The Rev. Page was a retired evangelist, and he evangelized for 30 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a great man of God, loving father, and a true friend, who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Survivors include two sons, Sherman Page, Jr. and wife Vicki of Converse, and Thomas Oscar Page and wife Jan of Lake Charles; six daughters, Betty Ann Ryals and husband William, Dorothy Jean Keel, Peggy Cooper, Margaret Lynn Spillyard and husband Johnny Wayne, all of Converse, and Susie Benson of Bossier City; 23 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. The Rev. Page was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lee Page; his parents; three sisters; and two brothers., Pallbearers were the family members. Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Mansfield, La.
