Rev. W. D. Peacock

  The Rev. W. D. Peacock, 87, of Quitman, died at 5:30 p.m.,
Friday, at his home, after a lengthy illness.

  Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, in the Edmonds
funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Bobbie Jones, and Rev. W. E.
Bruce officiating. Burial will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery.

  Surviving are his wife; Mrs. Annie Peacock of Quitman; four
daughters, Mrs. Nettie Book of Jonesboro, Mrs. Beatrice Sigler of
Nacogdoches, Tex., Mrs. Bonnie Pyles of Quitman, and Mrs.
Marsella Kindrix of Oak Grove; 14 grandchildren, and 39 great
grandchildren.

  The Rev. Peacock, at one time, was pastor of the Jennings Chapel
Congregational Methodist Church, in the Bethany Community near
Marthaville.
