Pickett, 71, of Bossier City, who died Nov. 11, in Bossier General Hospital, were held at 11 a.m. Friday, in the Welman Funeral Home Chapel in Shreveport. Mr. Pickett was a member of Martin McClendon Masonic Lodge in Bossier City, El Karubah Shrine Temple, and was a charter member of the First Baptist Church of Bossier City. A native of Mira, Mr. Pickett had resided in Bossier City for the past 30 years. He was retired from the St. Louis Southwestern Railway Co., and was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Clerks. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lillie Pickett of Bossier City; a son, R. D. Pickett of Luling; a daughter, Mrs. Yvonne P. Morgan of Bossier City; three brothers, Judge John S. Pickett, and M. M. Pickett, both of Many, and Frank Pickett of Washington D. C.; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Allison of Corpus Christi, Tex., and Mrs. Lillie B. Carney of Shreveport; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Burial was in the Forest Park Cemetery. Pallbearers were Alvin L. Maddox, Ralph P. Holmes, Casper L. Smith, Ray L. Underwood, Robert W. Brown, and Dr. Morris S. Embrey.
