Pickett Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ella Pickett, widow of the late G. A. Pickett, of 2935 Milton Street, Shreveport, were held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, in the chapel of the Rose-Neath Funeral Home, with the Rev. Stanley Jordan, pastor of the Queensborough Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery. The pallbearers were L. P. Embrey, John S. Pickett Jr., John R. Pickett, C. H. Vandegaer, Dr. M. S. Embery, and W. M. Thomas. Mrs. Pickett, aged 90, died in the Willis-Knighton Hospital, July 6, 1962, after a lengthy illness. She is survived by four sons, Judge John S. Pickett of Many, M. M. Pickett of Many, G. D. Pickett of Bossier City, and F. W. Pickett of Washington, D. C.; two daughters, Mrs. W. H. Carney of Shreveport, and Mrs. Irene Alison of Corpus Christi, Texas; three brothers, S. B. Sheppard of Ft. Worth, Texas, Robert O. Sheppard of McLeon, Texas, and H. C. Sheppard of Atlanta, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Henry Ray of Bivins, Texas, and Mrs. Phillip Massey of Marshall, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and 31 great grandchildren.
