All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Mr. George Kilmer Pickler, Sr. Services for Mr. George Kilmer Pickler Sr., 97, were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 14, 1993, at the Bailey Mortuary Chapel in Springhill Cemetery. Mr. Pickler, a native of Taylor, Ark., former resident of Springhill, and a resident of Zwolle for 18 years, passed away Friday, Nov. 12, in Zwolle, after a short illness. He was a businessman in Springhill for 25 years, where he owned and operated the Pick & Pay Grocery. He was one of the founders of the Springhill Bank & Trust Co., and was a member of the Springhill United Methodist Church. Mr. Pickler was a veteran of World War I, serving in the U.S. Army, a Mason, and member of the Hughey Masonic Lodge #70 F&AM, Taylor, Ark. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Pickler of Zwolle; daughter, Elizabeth P. Bell of Springhill; son G. K. Pickler Jr. and his wife Ruby of Bienville, La.; stepdaughter, Margaret Cutchins Martin and her husband Muriel of Dallas, Tex.; two step sons, Doyle DeWitt and his wife Etoile of Zwolle, Edward DeWitt and his wife Pat of Shreveport; two brothers, Eddie Pickler and his wife Dorothy, Wayne Pickler and his wife Murrah, all of Taylor, Ark.; five sisters, Lydia Watts of Houston, Tex., Vesta Clements of Atlanta, Tex., Willa Dean Hom of Stamps, Ark., Elizabeth Stuart, and Margaret Knight, both of Taylor, Ark. He was blessed with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
