Pate and Amanda Hawthorne Pate, died Monday, June 3, at Methodist Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, at the age of 60. Burial was in West Memphis, Arkansas, on Tuesday, June 9. A graduate of Many High School, in the class of 1923, Mr. Pate was living in Forrest City, Arkansas, at the time of his death. For more than 35 years, he was employed by the Arkansas Power and Light Company, and at the time of his retirement, he was the District Manager of the Northeast Division of the Arkansas Power and Light Company. Mr. Pate is survived by his mother, Mrs. Amanda Hawthorne Pate of Pineville, Louisiana; his widow, Mrs. Dessie Pate of Forrest City, Arkansas; a daughter, Mrs. William Wallace of Knoxville, Tennessee; a son, Danny Rae Pate of Forrest City, Arkansas; two sisters, Mrs. Maude Price, and Miss Mattie Lee Pate, both of Pineville, Louisiana; and a brother, W. E. (Ted) Pate of Alexandria, Louisiana.
