"Jack" Poteet Jr., 71, of Pleasant Hill, died on Oct. 2. Funeral services were held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield on Oct. 4. Burial followed at Beulah Cemetery in Marthaville, with military and Masonic honors. Mr. Poteet was born in Birmingham, Alabama. He was a retired M/Sgt. in the United States Air Force and Civil Service at Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, and was Past Master of the Haughton Lodge No. 95, F&AM. Survivors include his widow, Loretta Poteet of Pleasant Hill; four sons, G. Baxter Poteet, and Darrell C. Poteet, both of Houston, Texas, Dwane Poteet and wife Wendi of Aspermont, Texas, and Bryan L. Poteet of Dallas, Texas; one daughter, Michele E. Poteet of Bossier City; one sister, Gloria Alvis of Birmingham, Ala.; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Military personnel served as pallbearers.
