Pittman, 64, of Bossier City, were held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 29, at the Bossier City chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Mr. Pittman died suddenly Wednesday, Feb. 27, at Bossier General Hospital. The Rev. Edwin Davis, pastor of the Princeton Baptist Church, officiated at the services. Burial followed in Hillcrest Cemetery in Bossier City. Mr. Pittman was born in Plain Dealing. He had lived in Bossier Parish most of his life. He was a retired employee of Southwestern Electric Power Co., a member of the First Baptist Church, and a veteran of World War II. Survivors include his widow, Iva Owens Pittman of Bossier City; his mother, Mattie Pittman of Shreveport; three sons, Jimmy W. Pittman of Bossier City, and William R. Pittman, and Roland Pittman, both of Haughton; three sisters, Ruth L. Elkins of Shongaloo, Joyce Rumbough of Ringgold, and Joanne Webb of Zwolle; and one brother, Virgil L. Pittman of Vivian. Pallbearers were Anthony Owens, Glenn Armstrong, Mike Bryant, Phillip Elrod, Bobby Myrick, and Joe Maggie.
