Peterson, 87, of Many, died at 1 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 23, at the Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, following an extended illness. Funeral services were held on Thursday, Oct. 25, at 1 p.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints. Bishop Glen Hardy officiated. Burial followed in the Fort Jesup Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Glen Jones, C. B. Peterson, Marc Otte, Lambert Peterson, Mark Peterson, Bob Hartnett, Larry Hartnett, and Dennis Hartnett. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Bertha Maxey of Lafayette, Mrs. Lola Jordan of Salt Lake City, Utah, Mrs. Marie Forbes of Wilson, N. C., Mrs. Willie Dean Hartnett of Lake Charles, and Mrs. Odeal Rascoe of Natchitoches; three sons, Carl Peterson of Denison, Tex., Joseph P. Peterson of Nederland, Tex., and Hanson Peterson of Westlake; one sister, Mrs. Mamie Firesheets of Florien; two brothers, Obie Teasley of Holapaw, Fla., and Ernest Teasley of California; 26 grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren; and 9 great-great grandchildren.
