Peterson - April 28, 1988 Services for Mr. K. C. Peterson, 78, of Zwolle, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 21 at the Zwolle First Baptist Church. The Rev. Bill Hoffman officiated. Burial was at Zwolle Cemetery under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home in Many. Mr. Peterson died Tuesday, April 19, 1988 at his residence in Zwolle. He was a member of Zwolle First Baptist Church and a teacher of the Men's Bible Class. Mr. Peterson was a retired postmaster and was the Lion of the Year three times. He was a member of the Masons, Shriners, Order of the Eastern Star and served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He had been a member of the Zwolle First Baptist Church since he was baptized here March 26, 1922, longer than any other man. Through the years he ably served his church in many capacities teacher, treasurer, mission volunteer to Nevada and on committees. More recently he and Miss Lucille distributed tapes of church services and visited the home bound. Quite a historian, whenever anyone needed to know of persons or events in years past, he could always remember and supply the needed information. These past three months had been very difficult for him, but when he went to be with Jesus he left behind the pain and problems of his illness. He is survived by his wife, Lucille Peterson of Zwolle; three sons, Ben Peterson of Washington, D. C., Charles Peterson of Houston, Texas and David G. Pyland of Grove, Texas; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers include Jimmy Peterson, Jim Graves, John Leggett, Michael Pearce, James Napier and Jack Napier. Honorary pallbearers were the Adult Men's Sunday School class.
