Peterson, 89, of Many, died Friday, Jan. 6, in Lake Charles, after an extended illness. Funeral services were held in the Church of Latter Day Saints, Sunday, Jan. 8, with Bishop Fred Wagley, and Elder Gilbert Conner officiating. Burial was in the Fort Jesup Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lillian Peterson of Many; three sons, Carl Peterson of Dennison, Tex., J. P. Peterson of Nederland, Hanson Peterson of Westlake; five daughters, Mrs. Bertha Maxey of Lafayette, Mrs. Lela Jordan of Salt Lake City, Utah, Mrs. Marie Forbes of Lafayette, Mrs. Willie Dean Hartnett of Lake Charles, Mrs. Odeal Rascoe of Natchitoches; two brothers, Emmett Peterson, and Dave Peterson, both of Many; 31 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Pallbearers were the grandsons, Halver Peterson, Lambert Peterson, Dennis Peterson, Alex Forbes Jr., David Hartnett, Robert Hartnett, C. B. Peterson Jr., and Larry Hartnett.
