Gertie L. Patrick

  Mrs. Gertie L. Patrick, 94, of DeQuincy, formerly of Florien,
died at 10:14 a.m., Sunday, June 16, 2002, in DeQuincy Care
Center.

  A native of Florien, Mrs. Patrick resided in the DeQuincy/Vinton
area since the early 1940's. She was a member of Northside
Baptist Church of DeQuincy. She was a homemaker.

  Survivors include three sons, Ernest J. Mothershed of Westlake,
Robert L. Patrick of Hemphill, Texas, and Doyle L. Patrick of
Garden Valley, Calif.; one sister, Joyce Smith of Natchitoches;
nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held June 18, at 1 p.m., at Mount Carmel
Baptist Church of Florien. The Rev. Glenn Flenniken officiated.
Burial followed in Mount Carmel Cemetery, under the direction of
Snider Funeral Home of DeQuincy.
