Olive Alice Merritt Peterson

  Olive Alice Merritt Peterson, 82, of Houston, Texas, died Oct.
20, 2002, at Twelve Oaks Hospital in Houston. She was born in
Many, and lived in Houston, Texas for two years. She was a
homemaker, and a graduate of Northwestern State University.

  Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Oct. 24, at Hixson
Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder, with interment following at
Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery in Many. Dr. White Holmes
officiated.

  Survivors include one daughter, Dell Vassallo of Houston, Texas;
one son, Dan Merritt Peterson of Carmel Valley, Calif.; two
brothers, James Merritt, and LaVell Merritt, both of Many; two
great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
