John B. Powell

  Mr. John B. Powell, 89, died Feb. 1, 1987, at North Sabine
Nursing Home, Pleasant Hill, La. He was a native of Pitkin, La.

  Funeral services were held at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Pitkin,
La., Feb. 3, with Rev. Billy Nolen, and Rev. Travis McCullough
officiating. Burial was at Blackjack Cemetery, under the
direction of Rush's Funeral Home, Oakdale, La.

  Mr. Powel is survived by his wife, Bertha Powell of Pleasant
Hill; one step daughter, Mrs. Travis McCollough of Many; five
step grandchildren; and ten step great grandchildren; and a host
of nieces and nephews.
