James R. Powell

  Funeral services for Mr. James R. Powell, 66, were held at 1
p.m., Monday, December 11, at Oak Grove Baptist Church. Interment
followed at Prewitt Chapel Cemetery. Rev. Wayne Read officiated.

  Mr. Powell passed away on Saturday, December 9, at the V.A.
Medical Center in Shreveport.

  He is survived by his wife, Daisy Powell of Hornbeck; four sons,
Wayne Powell of Hornbeck, Doyle Powell of Florien, Gene Powell of
Austin, Texas, and Don Powell of Hornbeck; two daughters, Glenda
Duncan of Dallas, Texas, and Tammy Powell of Hornbeck; two
brothers, Harley Powell, and Lynn Powell, both of Hornbeck; one
sister, Margie Poarch of Hornbeck; seven grandchildren; and a
host of nieces and nephews.
