James Vinson Powell

  Funeral services for Mr. James Vinson Powell (Osmer or Pete),
86, of Many, were held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 26, 1995, at
Union Baptist Church in Florien.

  The Rev. Rusty Silvertooth, and Rev. Hilton officiated. Burial
was in Prospect Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows
Funeral Home.

  Mr. Powell died on Dec. 24, at Integrated Health Services in
Many. Visitation was held at Union Baptist Church in Florien, on
Dec. 25.

  Survivors are three sons, Calton O. Powell of Redwood Valley,
Calif., Monroe Powell, and Ezra Powell, both of Florien; one
daughter, Adell Sills of Many; two brothers, H. D. Powell of
Sulphur, and Marvin D. Powell of Leesville; two sisters, Maudie
Canterbury of Florien, and Zelma Lay of Carthage, Tex.
