Burial was in Blue Branch Cemetery, Pitkin, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale. Mrs. Powell, 89, of Many, died at 8:37 a.m., Friday, March 8, in Sabine Medical Center, Many. She was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church, and was a former resident of Pitkin for seventy nine years. She was a former resident of North Sabine Nursing Home in Pleasant Hill, La. She is survived by one daughter, Wanda Welch McCullough and husband Reverend Travis McCullough of Many; one sister, Myrtle Duffell of Pitkin; five grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren; two nieces; and one nephew. Friends may call from 10 a.m., Sunday, March 10, 1996, until time of services in the church.
