Joe B. Phillips Sr.

  Funeral services for Joe B. Phillips Sr., 68, of Lake Charles,
who died Wednesday, were held at 11 a.m., Friday, in the Hixson
Funeral Chapel. Burial was in the Highland Memory Garden Cemetery.

  Mr. Phillips, a native of Pleasant Hill, had been a resident of
Lake Charles for the past 30 years.

  Survivors include his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Richard Melville
of Trenton, N. J., a son, Joe B. Phillips Jr. of Lake Charles; two
sisters, Mrs. Effie Gaddis, and Mrs. Roma Chapman, both of Pleasant
Hill, and three grandchildren.
