Phillips Clarence Buford Phillips, 73, of Shreveport, died Tuesday, in P&S Hospital, after a long illness. A native of Pleasant Hill, he had lived in Shreveport 19 years. He was a retired employee of the Louisiana State Highway Department. He was a member of the Westgate Baptist Church, and a Mason. The funeral will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, in Springridge Baptist Church, with the Rev. Charles Flurry, pastor of Westside Baptist Church in Shreveport, and Rev. Alfred Mitchell, pastor of Southside Baptist Church in Mansfield, officiating. Burial with Masonic graveside rites will be in Springridge Cemetery, under the direction of Drewett Funeral Home of Mansfield. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Exie Brown Phillips of Shreveport, and brother, H. D. Phillips of Arp, Tex. Pallbearers will be Glen Phillips, Gene Largent, Jimmy Litton, Charles Brown, Hulon Sistrunk, Dourland Brown, Glen Brown, and Michael Brown.
