Phillips 17 Aug 1951 - A Pleasant Hill man was killed Monday in an accident at the Reynolds Lumber mill at Pleasant Hill. A. L. Phillips, 60, an employee of the miss, was struck by a piece of flying lumber on the chest at 9 a.m. He died almost instantly. Dr. H. M. Prothro of Pleasant Hill performed an autopsy which revealed that the blow had crushed Mr. Phillip's heart. Funeral rites were held at the Spring Ridge Baptist church. Burial was in the Spring Ridge cemetery under the direction of the Drewett funeral home of Mansfield. Surviving are his widow; four daughters, Mrs. S. D. Osborne, of New London, Texas, Mrs. H. Westbrook, of Hornbeck, Mrs. Robert Moore, and Mrs. Elma Patton, of Pleasant Hill; three sons, Truitt of Shreveport, Robert of the U. S. Navy, and Thomas, of Pleasant Hill.
