William Phillips

  Funeral services for William Owen Phillips, 96, of Anacoco, were
at 10 a.m., Monday, March 13, in the Crystal Springs Baptist
Church, with the Revs. Robert Graham, and Jerry Hamilton
officiating. Burial was in the Mitchell Cemetery, under the
direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville.

  Mr. Phillips died Friday, in a DeRidder hospital, after a short
illness.

  He is survived by three sons, William Phillips of Anacoco, Aukie
Phillips of Pitkin, and Charles Emerson of Leesville; four
daughters, Billie Thibodeaux of Hornbeck, Evelyn Mattingly of
Leesville, Rethie Corley of Anacoco, and Ollie Benefield of
Anacoco; one sister, Leacie Reeves of Lubbock, Tex.; 22
grandchildren, 76 great grandchildren, and 14 great-great
grandchildren.
