Phillips Funeral services in remembrance of Albert C. Phillips, were held Wed., Oct. 24, at 1 p.m., from the Oak Harbor First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jack Sondericker, and the Rev. Richard C. Addison officiating. Burial followed at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Oak Harbor, Wash., under the auspices of the Whidbey Island Masonic Lodge No. 15, F. and A. M. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Burley Funeral Chapel, Oak Harbor, Washington. Albert C. Phillips was born in Robeline, Louisiana on October 17, 1894. He died at his residence on Oct. 22, 1984, following a short illness, at the age of ninety. Mr. Phillips came to Oak Harbor from Shreveport, Louisiana in 1948. When he first came to Oak Harbor, he worked as a building contractor, and then was later employed in Public Works, with Civil Service at the Naval Air Station, Whidbey Island. He retired from public works in 1965. Mr. Phillips was a charter member of the First Baptist Church of Oak Harbor. He was also a member of the Whidbey Island Masonic Lodge No. 15 F. and A. M. In 1975, he received his fifty year pin from the Masonic Lodge. Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife, Addie A. Phillips of Oak Harbor; two daughters, Mrs. Leona Logan of Oak Harbor, Wash., and Mrs. Lavina Ward of San Diego, Calif.; and one son, Mr. Ralph T. Phillips of Shreveport, Louisiana. Seven grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren also survive. Pallbearers were Paul Birkeland, Jim Pace, Melvin Wilson, Jack Barrett, Clarence Jackson, and Ed Wright. Honorary pallbearers were Tony Trefero, Leslie Allen, and Lloyd Patton.
