Joseph Allen Phillips, Sr.

  Joseph Allen Phillips, Sr., 51, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000.

  Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Jan. 1, at Hickory Grove
Baptist Church in Coushatta, with interment following at
Thomas-Wren Cemetery in Martin. The Rev. Mike Fort officiated.

  Survivors include his widow, Maria L. Phillips of Pleasant Hill;
sons, Joseph Allen Phillips, Jr. of Ft. Worth, Texas, George Lara
of Victoria, Texas, Frank Ortega, III of Victoria, Texas, and
Joseph Anthony Phillips of Pleasant Hill; daughters, Jennifer
Marie Phillips of Phoenix, Ariz., and Christine Elizabeth
Phillips of Augusta, Calif.; sister, Barbara Ottinger, and her
husband, Ted of Coushatta; and a number of other relatives and
friends.

  Phillips was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Ovelia
Christine Phillips.
