Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, June 25, at Pendleton Assembly of God Church, with interment following at Beulah Cemetery. The Rev. Daniel Davis officiated. Mr. Phillips was a veteran of World War II, and served in the Pentagon, on the staff of Commander of the U.S. Army Air Corps, General "Hap" Arnold. He and his wife are lifelong residents of Sabine Parish, and the Pendleton area. Survivors include his widow, Lois Hippler Phillips of Many; one son, Eugene Phillips and wife Janie of Jasper, Texas; one daughter, Margie Phillips Glover and husband David of Shreveport; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Phillips of Beaumont, Texas, and Thomas Phillips of Garland, Texas; and one sister, Betty Jean Phillips of Beaumont, Texas, Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest J. Phillips and Bell Barber Phillips; one sister, Vera Phillips Chance; and two brothers, A. D. Phillips, and twin brother Harvey Phillips. Pallbearers were Darryl Phillips, Eric Malone, Michael Glover, Ronnie Phillips, Coy Harry, and Blaine Glover. Special thanks to Dr. Greg Founds, the Rev.
