Mrs. Zephie Phillips

  Funeral services were held at the First Methodist Church,
September 1st, for Mrs. Zephie Phillips, 85, with the Rev. W. H.
Bengston, and Rev. Cliburne Quaid officiating. Burial was in Many
Cemetery, with Warren Meadows Funeral Home in charge.

  Survivors are three sons, George O., and Francis A. Phillips,
Monroe, Willie N. Phillips of La Marque, Texas; three daughters,
Mrs. E. R. Gleason of Baton Rouge, Mrs. Dan Pursewell of
Cleveland, Texas, and Mrs. Morris Bounds of Center, Texas;
stepson, A. C. Phillips of Oak Harbor, Washington; stepdaughter,
Mrs. D. C. Etheridge of Longview, Texas; sister, Mrs. C. P.
Wilson of Valdosta, Ga.; 31 grandchildren; 31 great
grandchildren.

  Pallbearers were T. M. Phillips, J. B. Vandegaer, Claud Andries,
Ott Williams, Truett Walden, W. H. Pearce.
