All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Cora Williams Polke Services for Cora Williams Polke, 85, were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 26, in Starr Funeral Home Chapel in Hemphill, Tex., with the Rev. Clarence Howell, and the Rev. Billy Walker officiating. Burial with Eastern Star rites, were held in Hemphill Cemetery. Mrs. Polke died Monday, Dec. 24, in Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport, after a lengthy illness. A native of Hornbeck, she has lived in Hemphill since 1919. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hemphill, and Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Earline Polke Brown of Shreveport; three sisters, Pearlee Anthony of Houston, Tx., Mary Speights of Many, and Alice Jones of Beaumont, Tx.; two brothers, Curtis Williams, and J. W. Williams, both of Many, and one grandson. The family requests any memorial be made to the American Heart Association, or a charity of the donor's choice.
