The Rev. Jerry Schmucker, pastor emeritus of Pinecroft Baptist Church, officiated. Graveside service was at 3 p.m., at Grove Hill Cemetery in Mansfield, La. Mr. Polk, a former resident of Shreveport, died at 3 a.m., Monday, March 19, 1984, at Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport, after a lengthy illness. He was a retired blacksmith, and a retired City Marshal of Boyce, La. He had resided in Noble for seven years. He was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church in Mansfield, Mr. Polk was born in Mansfield, La. He is survived by three sons, Cecil G. Polk of Shreveport, Jerry Polk of Alexandria, La., and Larry Polk of Elysian Fields, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Elsie Rathenberger of Noble, and Mrs. C. L. Jones of Pineville, La.; 22 grandchildren; and 38 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Gene Polk, Rickey Polk, Randy Polk, Joe Metoyer, Calain Rachal, and Jimmy L. Johnson Jr.
