Polk, age 54, died Tuesday, July 24, at his home here, after a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, in the Chapel of Drewett's Funeral Home, with Rev. J. P. King, Rev. James P. Adams, Dr. George A. Ritchey officiating. Burial was in Highland Cemetery here. He had been a deacon in the Antioch Baptist Church for many years. Pallbearers were W. R. Mannies, Cecil Key, Aubrey Rascoe, Douglas Tyler, Carl Taylor, and John Godfrey of Many. Survivors are his widow; a son, James Polk of Mansfield; two brothers, Wilford, and Wilmer Polk of Shreveport; two sisters, Mrs. T. E. Roberts of Mansfield, and Mrs. Eugene Hinton of Many.
