Palmer, 90, of Shreveport, were held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, February 20, at Rose-Neath's Marshall Street Chapel, with the Rev. Crawford Williams, pastor of the Ingleside Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was at Forest Park Cemetery. Mr. Palmer died Saturday, February 18, 1989, at P & S Hospital, following a short illness. A native of Corinth, Miss., he had been a resident of Shreveport since 1937. He was a retired Pipe fitter with Libby Owens Ford Glass Co., and was a member of Fair Park Masonic Lodge No. 436. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dollie Bruner Palmer of Shreveport; two sons and daughters-in-law, Aubrey L. and Marjorie Palmer of Shreveport, Travis L. and Bobbie Palmer of Converse; four sisters, Dora Venn, Mary D. Craig, Willie Monk, and Mable Jordan, all of Gilmer, Tex.; five grandchildren, Debbie Cordaro, Terri Odom, Travis L. Palmer II, Robert Stephen Palmer, and Susan Diane Lee; twelve great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Charles Venn, Chris Cordaro, James E. Bruner, Harold R. Bruner, Cecil Snider, and Renee DeHondt.
