Burial was in Dove Cemetery in Many, under the direction of Thomas Mortuary. Rev. C. R. Raney, pastor, officiated. Mrs. Palmer passed away Saturday, April 21, at Sabine Medical Center in Many. She was married to the late Rev. William L. Palmer. To this union, six children were born. She was a mother to many, and was known to all as "Mama Lulu". To mourn her passing, she leaves three sons, Frederick D. Palmer of McKenney, Virginia, Willard D. Palmer of Many, William L. Palmer Jr. of Lake Charles; three daughters, Mildred McCraw Pollard of Houston, Texas; Marjorie Barrett Covington of Columbus, Georgia, and Alice Prude Jackson of Kankakee, Illinois; one step daughter, Margaret L. Whittled of Fort Worth, Texas; two sons-in-law; three daughters-in-law; three sisters, Ola Mae Johnson, and Rosetta Addison of Baltimore, Maryland, and Murlean Longstreet of Belton, Texas; one brother, J. C. McClanahan of Florien; 31 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
