All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Whitfield "Jack" Pine (Photo) Mr. Whitfield "Jack" Pine, 64, of Many, died in the Sabine Medical Center, on February 3, 1987, at 8:58 a.m., after a short illness. Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church of Many, on February 5, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Joe Ratcliff, and the Rev. C. J. Walea officiating. Interment was in the Many Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Mr. Pine was buried with full military honors, 21 gun salute, and a bugler playing taps. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Juanita Johnson Pine of Many; five sisters, Vera Fleek, and Joanna Jones of Longbeach, Calif., Aubie L Kreusel of Beverly, Ma., Martha Raye Kelley of West Monroe, and Mary Antilley of Natchitoches; two brothers, Glen T. Pine of Dallas, Tex., and Archie L. Pine of Natchitoches; a beloved and loving pet, Nipsy; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were John Henry Brown, Jimmy Johnson, Jay Johnson, Quentin Dew, Clint Pine, and Don Pine. Mr. Pine was a First Lieutenant in World War II, 1942-1949, and flew B-26's during the war, flew in the Berlin Airlift 1948-1949, and was called back to active duty, and flew B-29's 1951-1955. He was stationed at Randolph Air Force Base, at San Antonio, Tex., and El Paso, Tex. He also flew with Tow-Target Squadron. He was retired from Ling-Temco-Vought Corporation Aeronautics in Dallas, Tex.
