Officiating will be Monsignor Norman Buvens. Interment will be in Poimboeuf Family Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Mrs. Poimboeuf died Saturday, November 6, 1993, at her residence. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Officer of the American Legion Auxiliary, and a committee member of the Battle of Pleasant Hill. Mrs. Poimboeuf is survived by her husband, Dr. C. E. Poimboeuf Sr. of Pleasant Hill, La.; three sons, C. E. Poimboeuf Jr. of Shreveport, La., Robert Clifton Poimboeuf of Shreveport, La., and Walter Elie Poimboeuf of Corpus Christi, Tex.; two daughters, Gwendolyn Bayard of Sulphur, La., and Susan Breaux of Lafayette, La.; mother, Theolite Smith of Oberlin, La.; two sisters, Gertrude Daigle of Church Point, La., and Faye McMahon of DeRidder, La.; four brothers, J. C. Smith, Benton Smith, Elmo Smith, and Leonard Smith, all of DeRidder, La.; eight grandchildren, Suzanne Bayard, Patrick Bayard, Elaine Bayard, Meave Breaux, Jay Breaux, Marc Breaux, Sabre Poimboeuf, and Elie Poimboeuf II; and close family friend, Frances Cromwell. Pallbearers were Gordan Russell, Thomas W. Hardee III, William Peacock, John Neal, Truman Durr, Hugh Hardee, Roy Bridges, and Sidney Sanders. Honorary pallbearers were members of the American Legion Post 300. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Colonel Allen Ashcraft Memorial Fund for the Pleasant Hill Battle Field, in care of Peoples Bank of Pleasant Hill, Louisiana.
