All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** James "Ed" Pynes (Log Truck Driver) An informal fellowship will be held Nov. 7, for James "Ed" Pynes of Eugene, who died Oct. 31, of cancer. He was 87. Pynes was born Sept. 30, 1906, in Hornbeck, La. After moving to Oregon, he married Laura "Jerry" Horn in Corvallis, on Dec. 1, 1943. In 1971, he retired from Georgia-Pacific Corp., after working most of his life as a log truck driver. Pynes enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, reading, watching ballgames, and spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Patsee Parker of Waldport; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Sunday's gathering will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., in the clubhouse at Falcon Wood Village in Eugene. Poole-Larsen Funeral Home in Eugene is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the hospice program at Sacred Heart General Hospital.
