Hester of the Nazarene church, conducted funeral services for O. L. Pynes last Monday afternoon, from the Smith Funeral Home. Mr. Pynes died at Valley View hospital last Saturday, February 15, after an illness of some four weeks. Ollie Pynes was born in Maryanna, Florida, February 6, 1879, and made that place his home until he was 14, when the family moved to Sabine Parish, Louisiana. He was married to Effie May Sanders on May 8, 1898, at Florien, Louisiana. The family moved to Arizona in 1924, and came to this community in 1934, where they had since resided. Mr. Pynes was an employee of the Edward Hines Lumber company. Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. O. F. Presley; four sons, Sam, Ed, Ray, and Roy Pynes. There are also 12 grandchildren who survive him. All live in this community. Music was provided for the funeral service by a quartet composed of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Eby, and Mr. and Mrs. George McUne. A duet was also rendered by Mrs. Eby, and Mrs. McUne. The active pallbearers were Jim Myers, Webb Freeman, Roy Bunyard, R. P. Lane, D. M. Parker, and A. D. Elliott. Honorary pallbearers were A. Strahan, Wesley Pigg, Bert Brannon, Roy Stahl, Price Williams, and George Swearingen.
