Pynes, 80, of Shreveport, father of Mrs. Ed Jones Jr. of Zwolle, passed away Saturday, April 27, at 4 p.m., at the Sabine Clinic in Zwolle, following a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held Monday at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Shreveport, with the Rev. Bill Baker, pastor of the Emmanuel Baptist Church of Shreveport, officiating, assisted by the Rev. B. T. Scrivner, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Zwolle. Mr. Pynes, a retired Kansas City Southern Railroad engineer, had been a resident of Shreveport for 32 years. He is survived by four sons, Lt. Col. O. A. Pynes Jr. of Fort Polk, Walter, Williams, and Lavell Pynes, all of Shreveport; one daughter, Mrs. Ed Jones Jr. of Zwolle; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Pallbearers were J. F. Houck, J. B. Harris, Wade Hampton, B. C. VanHook, H. C. Johnson, and J. C. Alford. Interment was in the Forest Park Cemetery, Shreveport, under the direction of the Rose-Neath Funeral Home.
