Irene Douchiere Ponselle

  Funeral services for Irene Douchiere Ponselle, 91, of
Shreveport, were held Thursday, Nov. 7, 1996, at 11 a.m., at St.
Catherine's Catholic Church. Officiating was Father William
Spencer, O. F. M., pastor of St. Catherine Catholic Church.
Interment was at Forest Park, under the direction of Rose-Neath
Funeral Home, Southside Chapel in Shreveport.

  Mrs. Ponselle passed away Tuesday, Nov. 5, at her residence,
after a lengthy illness. She was born in Richland Parish, and
resided in Shreveport for 17 years. Mrs. Ponselle retired from
Special Services, with the state of Louisiana Welfare Department.
She was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church, and the
Pinecroft Homemakers Club.

  She was preceded in death by her husband, J. O. "Tim" Ponselle;
infant son, John O. Ponselle Jr.; daughter, Peggy Spohrer; and
sons-in-law, John B. Spohrer, and Dewey D. Rains.
