Pentecost, 80, of Shreveport, were held at 12:30 p.m., Friday, March 26, at Rose-Neath Marshall Street Chapel. Dr. D. L. Dykes, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Shreveport, and Rev. Fred Schwendimann, associate pastor of Noel United Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was in Forest Park Cemetery. She died at 4:12 p.m., March 24, at the Highland Hospital, after a brief illness. Mrs. Pentecost, born in Patroon, Tex., and a resident of Shreveport 38 years, was a school teacher in public and private schools for 50 years, before retiring. She was a member of Noel United Methodist Church. Mrs. Pentecost is survived by her son, Maloy H. Pentecost, Sr.; and five grandchildren, Maloy H. Pentecost Jr., Sandra J. Pentecost, Melissa K. Pentecost, Melinda C. Pentecost, and Leslie Anne Kolb, all of Shreveport; sister, Mrs. Hazel P. Brown; brother, Randall H. Parrott of Zwolle. Pallbearers were Harold H. Parker, George B. Martin, Robert M. Davis, Edwin L. Blewer, L. E. McCoa, Clarence R. Noel, Charles R. Burnum Jr., and Clyde D. Patterson. Family requests memorials be made to: American Heart Fund.
