Pentecost, 80, of Shreveport, were held at 12:30 p.m., Friday, March 26, 1983, at the Rose-Neath's Marshall Street Chapel, with the Rev. Dr. D. L. Dykes, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Shreveport, and the Rev. Fred Schwendimann, associate pastor of Noel United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment was in the Forest Park Cemetery. She died at 4:12 p.m., March 24, 1983, at the Highland Hospital, after a brief illness. She was born in Patroon, Tex., and was a resident of Shreveport for 38 years, was a school teacher in public and private schools for 50 years, before retiring. She was a member of the Noel United Methodist Church. Mrs. Pentecost is survived by her son, Maloy H. Pentecost Sr.; five grandchildren, Maloy H. Pentecost Jr., Sandra J. Pentecost, Melissa K. Pentecost, Melinda C. Pentecost, and Leslie Anne Kalb, all of Shreveport; one sister, Mrs. Hazel P. Brown of Shreveport; and one brother, Randall H. Parrott of Zwolle. Pallbearers were Harold H. Parker, George B. Martin, Robert M. Davis, Edwin L. Blewer, L. E. McCoa, Clarence R. Noel, Charles R. Burnum Jr., and Clyde D. Patterson. The family requests memorials be made to the American Heart Fund.
