Elma Brown Ponder

  Mrs. Elma Brown Ponder, 85, died June 28, at 6:32 p.m., in Many.

  Mrs. Ponder was born in Pleasant Hill on August 22, 1895. She
was in affiliation with the Union Baptist Church.

  She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. J. C. Miley Roberts of
Scurry, Tx., Mrs. V. D. Sylvia Early of Belmont, Mrs. Frank
Yvonne Verdin of Gretna; four sons, Elven E. Ponder of Baton
Rouge, Deward Ponder of South America, A. D. Ponder of Pleasant
Hill, Merlin Ponder of Pride; 18 grandchildren; 28 great
grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and two sisters,
Mrs. Virgie Brown of Carlsbad, N. M., and Mrs. Ruby Ross of
Natchitoches.

  Interment was under the direction of T. J. Drewett Funeral Home
in Mansfield.
